While pursuing the second line of inquiry under the current unit “Earth’, the students did map marking of some famous land forms and water bodies which they had researched as part of their weekend prep. They also enjoyed an interesting experiment to understand the three layers of the earth.Students attempted a Formative assessment on the first line of inquiry wherein they explained the formation of Earth with the help of a flowchart. Students were shown the journey of a river in which they identified and categorized various landforms and waterbodies which they later depicted in their process journals.Whiletuning in to the third line of inquiry, the students researched about weathering, erosion and deposition. They further enhanced their understanding by watching a video and represented it in a pictorial form in their journals.Students worked in pairs for their Formative assessment on the second line of inquiry. After explaining about their chosen landforms and water bodies, they made clay models depicting the same. In their art classes the students are used the technique of ‘Impressionism’ to create their landscape with poster colours.In their Hindi classes students wrote the causes of sea pollution after watching a video and by reading a story 'Minaamaataakeekathaa' related to the same. They discussed about the causes of climate changes after reading an article related to the same. In English classes students were shown front and back cover of various books post which they brainstormed the elements of the cover page of a book and created a checklist in theirprocess journals. As part of the homework they incorporated all the elements of the book cover and created a beautiful front cover for their novel study booklet. They also enhanced their vocabulary by finding difficult words and their meanings. Students practiced multiplication sums and tried to make real-life connections in the form of word problems in their process journals. They also attempted a formative assessment on multiplication. In their ICT classes students were introduced to ‘Hour of Code’, an online coding activity observed worldwide during Computer Science Education Week in December and they gained knowledge about the basics of coding and using blocks for various themes like Moana, Starwars, Minecraft and Anna and Else. They enjoyed coding and working with blocks.Students attempted an online quiz activity on Basics of Computer on www.Kahoot.it and they enjoyed the activity as they enriched their knowledge as well. In their Hindi Ab initio classes, the students were introduced to the concept of 'miltejulteshabd' and using the same they enjoyed creating couplets and poems along with their peers. A poem about days of the week was practiced with loud recitation and word meaning practice was done through the same. The students learnt about 'aa' maatraa and spoke and wrote vocabulary using the same.Introduction to the unit 'Sense organs' was also done. In the Spanish class students enjoyed watching a Christmas song on YouTube and learnt new vocabulary. In the French class students learnt the vocabulary of seasons and made a mind map of the same. They also watched a song on the same topic to practice pronunciation. Students revised the previously done concepts through a Kahoot quiz in collaboration with other sections. In their music classes students played percussion instruments and learned Christmas carols……………………………………………………………………………………………………..
