Students continue their journey of exploring the different sense organs under their current unit.Provocation to the second sense of ‘Hearing’ was done through an activity – ‘Mystery Noises’ wherein students were made to hear sounds with their eyes closed and they had to identify the source of the sound. Students were paired up to find out about one of the three parts of a human ear - outer ear, middle ear and inner ear and their functions. They were also shown a video to enhance their understanding of the same. Students enjoyed an experiment on how sound travels through the ear and how the resulting vibrations help us to hear. They wrote their understanding of the experiment using the concept of ‘procedural writing’. Students brainstormed on how our ears help us connect to the world around us, followed by a class discussion. |
